Winter is coming...it’s snow laughing matter!

The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking temporary help for our upcoming winter season!

The DOT is looking for individuals who are ready to jump in and help with highway maintenance activities.

Duties include:

  • Highway maintenance
  • Operation of highway maintenance equipment
  • Physical labor activities (including snow and ice control)

The duties require the ability to work outdoors during inclement weather, team lift, or mechanical assist recommended for weights over 75 pounds, and to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Pay: $19.76/hour

Location: Statewide

Requirements:

Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) upon hire. Within 45 calendar days following appointment, a valid Class A or B (level and endorsements determined by the appointing authority). CDL must be obtained and maintained.

Must be 18+ years of age

Positions are subject to pre-employment drug testing as well as other drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Temporary employment period will be October 13, 2023- April 25, 2024
